If you pride yourself on “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” you’re going to revel in this news. However, if the mere mention of Kourtney, Kim, Khloe and/or Kris (or the letter “K”) incites red vision, clenched fists, heavy sweating, bleeding ears, and grinding teeth, you should probably stop reading this story and escape to your happy place. One of Hollywood’s richest families just got a whole lot richer. And our outlook on humanity just got a whole lot poorer.

The Kardashian family just signed a three-year, $40 million deal with the E! network, and TMZ says “it’s the richest deal ever in reality TV.” Sources told the entertainment site the family will rake in over $40 million for the upcoming three seasons of the show, which premiered on E! in 2007 and has led to a number of equally entertaining irritating spin-offs.

But let’s not forget, aside from the reality television projects, the Calabasas-based brood also profits from a number of questionable product endorsements.

Entering into its seventh season — which will air May 20 — the show’s sixth season averaged 3 million viewers. America, we encourage you to expand your programming palette. Maybe throw a little Discovery Channel into your evenings, perhaps a couple hours of the History Channel?….more
