Looks like the 32-year-old Lamar Odom will try to make it back to the NBA this fall and not do a third season of his E! reality show “Khloe & Lamar,” sources have told TMZ.com.
It’s amazing to me that Odom might be blaming the series for his lack of production with the Dallas Mavericks this spring, as the 13-year veteran averaged 6.6 points in 50 games for the defending NBA champions.
I think it’s the reality TV show curse.
Let’s look at a few others:
STAR: Chad Ochocinco starred in his own reality dating show called “Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch” on VH1 in 2010.
RESULT: The New England Patriots traded two draft picks this past season for the 34-year-old Ochocinco, and he promptly went out and started only three games and caught one touchdown. He restructured his contract again with hopes of making the team this fall.
STAR: Terrell Owens starred for a couple of seasons on his own reality show “The T.O. Show” on VH1 in an attempt to show that he has a softer side.
RESULT: After no NFL team picked him up, the 38-year-old played this spring for the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League. He is still hoping to return to the NFL.
STAR: Deion Sanders and his wife Pilar starred in a 2008 reality series on Oxygen called “Deion & Pilar: Prime Time Love” in which the show focused on their home life.
RESULT: Sanders works as an analyst on the NFL Network, but the couple is involved in a very ugly divorce battle.
STAR: Kris Humphries of the New Jersey Nets starred in “Kourtney and Kim Take New York“, the spinoff to the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” on the E! Network the past couple of years. The show talked about the engagement and marriage of Humphries to Kim Kardashian.
RESULT: After 72 days of marriage, Kardashian filed for divorce. The funny thing is Humphries’ stats went up playing for the Nets as he averaged about 14 points a game, compared to a career average of about 7 points…..more
